7 GUY Rules on the First Date

1. Always pay for the first date

It is a must that you pay for the first date even if she offers to. It creates an unspoken understanding that you are not cheap. That simple gesture gives them the sense of security they look for from guys they are dating. Also it gives a good first impression and it leads to later rewards.

2. Always maintain eye-contact for the duration of the date

During the date do not give out any vibe that you are nervous and the best indicator of that is through your eyes. Maintaining eye-contact tells your date that your are confident and that you are willing to listen. Never look down or look elsewhere when she is talking to you. It might appear to her that you lack self-confidence and that is never a good thing.

3. Practice your lines

It is important that you come prepared for a date. Go over your lines in-front of a mirror or with your pet dog do whatever you think will help you. Practice conversations and confrontations with yourself and do not be ashamed because if you really like that girl you don’t want to mess this up. This will avoid awkward silences which is really brutal on first dates. I’d rather be well equipped than go about it blind-folded.

4. Ask questions about her

Start the conversation with a question. Ladies like to talk about them and make sure that you listen to every word she says. Make notes in your head so you can quote her after. This tells her that you are interested.

5. Be confident

Don’t be afraid of judgement. Ladies find honesty sweet. Tell them who you are and what you do with confidence. Its one thing to be a janitor but its another to be self-concious about it. Ladies can sense lack of confidence from a mile away. Let it all out.

6. Never introduce her to your friends in the first date

Your main goal is to get to know each other and it is quite impossible to do it in one night. Typically, she would leave out some information until your next date which is totally normal. Now introducing her to your friends in the first date when you yourself barely know each other is quite against what you really want to do. So it is important to build a strong connection with her first before you try to introduce her to your friends. In some cases, when you expose her to your boys it is likely that she involuntarily develop a connection with your friends before she does with you and you don’t want that.

7. Sell yourself

At the end of the day we are promoting ourselves to people we don’t know. Sell yourself like you would when you are in a job interview. Show her that you can take care of her by taking control of situations. Be confident in everything you say and be yourself. If she doesn’t like who you are then she’s not for you.

Ontario Canada’s Ministry of Health Banned Smoking in Patios, Playgrounds, & Sports Fields [ILLEGAL]

ONTARIO — It is now illegal to smoke in Restaurant patios, Playgrounds, and Sport fields in Ontario.

It also bans the sale of tobacco cigarettes in post-secondary schools.

Huffington Post Canada

The Ministry of Health has said the changes to the Smoke Free Ontario Act replace a patchwork of municipal regulations governing smoking on restaurant and bar patios, and will not hurt their businesses.

The measures were first announced in November.

The province says tobacco kills 13,000 people in the province each year and causes an estimated $2.2 billion in direct health care costs.

This law has already taken effect in Ontario.

Toronto Raptors Demar Derozan participated in full Practice since the Injury

Demar Derozan with Coach Casey

Demar Derozan

Demar Derozan suffered a torn left adductor longus tendon — a severe groin strain in the third quarter of November 28th’s loss to Dallas.

Toronto Raptors Radio Broadcaster (SN590) Eric Smith reported that Demar Derozan participated in his first full practice since the injury.

It won’t be long until we see him playing again on the floor with his team-mates, but certainly will not be playing this week against Golden State.

The Raptors has won 8 of their last 10 games and the return of Demar Derozan can help carry the load off of Kyle Lowry. Lowry has proved that he can lead the team without their best scorer by turning belief into confidence.

Toronto Raptors Win Prediction (BREAKDOWN) against the West on the Road – Dec 27 – Jan 10

The Toronto Raptors are off to a good start winning 2 of 5 games on the road against top tier teams in the West. They faced the Clippers last Saturday that was lead by Kyle Lowry who scored 25 points of a 110-98 victory and snapped the Clipers 8-game home winning streak.

They also faced the Denver Nuggets, Kyle Lowry had 30 points and 11 assist, a double-double for the Villanova kid. Lou Williams also contributed with 31 points off the bench in a victory over the Nuggets. The Raptors first win in Pepsi Center since 2003-2004.

The Raptors have 3 more games before they go back home. They will face Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday, the Golden State Warriors on Thursday and the Phoenix Suns on Saturday.

ROAD TRIP “Statistics Prediction”  (Click Image for Larger View)

Portland Trail Blazers(25-7)

The Category that stands out the most in this Match up is Turnovers. The Blazers turn it over 15.1 times per game against the Raptors 11.6. The Toronto Raptors takes care of the ball better and also the Extra scoring chances per game TOR (4.0) vs. POR (-1.6) . If we base it on these statistics alone,The Toronto Raptors should be able to Win this matchup.

Golden State Warriors(24-5)

The Golden State Warriors shoots the ball at 47.90%. They are an elite shooting team that is why they are at the top of the Western Conference right now. The only edge that the Raptors have is that the Warriors doesn’t rebound the ball well, only 10 rebounds per game and also 16 turnovers per game. This will be an exciting game because both teams likes to run the floor.

The team that could hold the Opposition under 100 will win the game.

Pheonix Suns(18-14)

The Pheonix Suns wins 2 of 9 categories against the Raptors. They only edged the Raptors in Steals and Blocks by a small margin. Again, the Raptors takes care of the ball better than Pheonix, they turn the ball over 15.1 times a game against 11.6 by the Raptors.

This should be a WIN for the Raptors.

The Toronto Raptors should be able to win 4 games out of 5 after the road trip.

On a Serious Note: What is the truth about happiness?(VIDEO)

Happiness is a state of mind that makes you feel good about yourself. It’s this rush of feeling through your body that tells you to laugh or smile. That state or feeling are caused by things that we like and love doing.

What are the things that makes us happy? Does having a lot of money or a nice car make you happy for the rest of your life? The answer would be no. You would be surprised of how quickly our mind adapts to situations like the feeling of getting a new car or buying a very expensive house.

We are drawn to the thought that having the most expensive things would make us happy for a long period of time. Fact is, that feeling only lasts for a short period, then our minds goes back to its normal state as if nothing has changed. It is why we miswant things. We think we really want it because of its long-term effect on us, but 9 times out of 10 it wont.

Miswanting is when we want something because we think that it will make us happy for a longer period but it is never the case.

Purdy’s Chocolatier offers perfect gifts this Holiday Season, boasts #1 Chocolatier in Canada

DSC_9747Cruising around Square One Mall looking for the perfect gift, I stumbled upon Purdy’s Chocolatier. I was intrigued by their chocolate fountain placed in front of the store, so I approached and to my surprise found an abundance of chocolate of different kinds. The variety of chocolate that could be found in one store is just breath taking. They have a menu that lists all the chocolates in case you have questions.

DSC_9746The feature that really struck me the most about the store was their ready made gifts composed of different combinations of chocolates. For someone like me who doesn’t know how to wrap gifts, it is really a blessing. There are so many different combinations of chocolates in different styles of gift wrapping, the possibilities are endless.

If you are looking for a gift or simply just craving for the best chocolate, Purdy’s Chocolatier is perfect for you. It was no surprise that Canadian living website ranked Purdy’s Chocolate #1 among the best of the best in Canada.

“Skate on the Square” right at the heart of Mississauga Ontario Canada,

I couldn’t think of a  better way to spend your Saturday night than skating outdoors, whether with your family or friends. You would definitely feel the Christmas vibe and that Christmas is just around the corner. The cold air rushing through your face while being serenade by Christmas Jingles, there is no better feeling.

Here in Mississauga, we have a place called Celebration Square where people gather for special occasions. The Square also features a skating rink that operates from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm.

In my opinion, the best time to go is at night because it is when the square shines the brightest. The trees around the square are wrapped in vibrant Christmas lights and while City hall lights up in green and blue.

If you are a casual skater and you don’t have your own skates, you’re in luck because they also have Skate Rentals for $10, but you would be required to leave your Identification card for assurance purposes, don’t worry you will get it back when you return the shoes.

Here are some Rink Rules from Celebration Square

We want everyone to enjoy themselves in a safe and positive environment.
Please respect this facility, other skaters and the Skater’s Code of Conduct.

All public skating participants must obey the following rules:

  • Please listen to and obey skate patrollers at all times
  • Please do not bring food or drink on the ice surface
  • No horseplay/games
  • Do not skate backwards
  • All participants must be in full control and be able to avoid contact with other
skaters  –  Please do not skate excessively fast or erratically
  • Only approved skate aid devices are permitted on the ice surface
  • No hockey equipment or other toys/equipment are permitted on the ice surface
  • Please do not sit on the boards or stand/rest on the ice surface
  • Please do not carry children while skating
  • Skate in the approved direction only
  • Please leave the ice surface immediately when asked to do so by the skate patrollers
  • All participants must wear ice skates while on the ice surface

If you are living near Mississauga or simply just passing by our city, you should check it out. it’s really a great place to just hang and feel the vibe.

Quick tip: Winning the Battle over Stress (list)

We experience stress everyday whether we’re at work, school or simply being at home. We are bombarded with stress anywhere we go and whatever we’re doing. It is part of our everyday life and the only way to get through is to accept it and move forward.

The real problem is when the stress is prolonged for a period of time from either mental or physical exhaustion. Fact is a lot of people suffer from it and for some people who couldn’t cope with stress are quite possibly leaning towards taking their own life. Most suicides happen on the first day of the year, January 1st, because these people couldn’t imagine having to endure the stress of living like that for another year. Its such a shame knowing that we could have done something to prevent it from happening.

First of all, it is important to talk to someone about this issue. You cannot deal with it on your own and it is important to get other peoples opinion rather than keeping it to yourself. I remember my mother, everyday she would come home from work and she would tell us everything that happened in great detail. She wouldn’t leave anything untold. That’s why every time I would visit her work, I felt like I know everyone already. She would tell us how nice Sophia is and how Bitchy Yana is. I understood why she was telling us everything. If that would keep my mother from thinking unhealthy thoughts then I wouldn’t mind listening to her everyday.

Here are some of things you could do to reduce stress and ultimately live happier.

  • Tell someone you trust
  • Get a Hobby
  • Exercise
  • Entertain yourself (Movies/Games)
  • Eating Healthy
  • Join classes on dealing stress
  • Have a Schedule
  • Socialize
  • Meditation
  • Time off from work
  • Balance your activities

These are the things that will help you focus on other things and really bring back that sense of purpose. It will also help you appreciate life in a deeper sense.

Robin Williams’s Son Zak on People said he Misses His Dad All the time

Zak Williams and Robin Williams

Robin Williams at 63 took his own life 4 months ago and he was never forgotten by his family and friends that are closest to him. Zak Williams, 31, son of the late Robin Williams was interviewed on People for the very first time since the incident.

“I miss him all the time, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story.

“Often I see something or if I’m watching a film, I think, ‘Oh, man, he would have appreciated this’ or ‘He would have gotten a laugh out of this. There’s not a day that goes by that we don’t think about our dad.”

Robin Williams was also known to be compassionate and generous to the young patients of St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Marlo Thomas, who worked with the late Robin Williams for 18 years recalled his relationship with the patients. He said,

“One of them liked toy soldiers, so Robin sent him his own toy soldiers that he had saved all those years of his childhood,” says Thomas. “When he came there, it was like magic.”

Zak was inspired by his fathers generosity, he started volunteering at a nearby prison and according to him it helped in the healing process.

Masai Ujiri the Genius Behind Raptors Continued Success

Msai Ujiri GM and President of Toronto Raptors

Masai Ujiri GM and President of Toronto Raptors

There is no doubt that the acquisition of Masai Ujiri in 2013 as GM and President of Basketball operation has been the game changer for the Toronto Raptors organization.  Masai Ujiri didn’t waste his time in the office and made moves right away. He traded Andrea Bargnani to the New York Knicks for Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, Quentin Richardson, a future first round draft pick, and two future second round picks. Camby and Richardson were both waived shortly after the trade. The Raptors also added Tyler Hansbrough, D. J. Augustin, Dwight Buycks, and Austin Daye via free agency.

On December 9, 2013, the Raptors traded Rudy Gay, Quincy Acy, and Aaron Gray to the Sacramento Kings for John Salmons, Greivis Vásquez, Patrick Patterson, and Chuck Hayes, and waived Augustin. The Raptors started winning games after the trade and finished the season with 48 wins and 34 losses. The Raptors got to the playoffs and eventually lost in 7 games against The Brooklyn Nets. Masai Ujiri was named the Executive of the year in the 2013-2014 season.

Critics are saying that the trade of Rudy Gay to the Sacramento Kings was the key factor for the Raptors continued success. He would often be referred as a Black hole of the offense, mainly because the ball movement stops whenever he steps on the floor and only make shots for himself. He just simply didn’t fit in what Masai Ujiri envisioned for the Toronto Raptors.

The summer before the 2014-2015 season started, Masai Ujiri brought back James Johnson for a 2 year $5 million deal, added Louis Williams and re-signs Greivis Vásquez

This season 2014-2015, The Toronto Raptors is off to a sizzling start and has never started a season like this in history, they already won 19 of 25 games despite they lost Demar Derozan to a groin injury, the Raptors still managed to stay at the top of the East while showing no signs of slowing down. Their bench has been the key to their success this season with Vasquez and Louis Williams leading the way.

Toronto Raptors pursuing Marc Gasol in Free Agency

Toronto Raptors v Memphis Grizzlies

The Toronto Raptors is showing interest in acquiring the Memphis Grizzly Big man, Marc Gasol. His team is at the top of the Western Conference mainly because of his solid production averaging 19.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and 3.8 apg. It may not come as a surprise that other NBA teams would also try to sign him once he hits Free Agency.

According to The Globe and Mail, If Marc Gasol doesn’t re-sign with the Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors will try to covet him of signing with the Raptors.

“A player that increasingly intrigues Raptors management is Memphis centre Marc Gasol.

The Spaniard is a free agent this summer. The greatest lack on the Raptors roster is a truly dominant big man. Gasol is a Jungian figure that features prominently in GM Masai Ujiri’s bedside dream diary”

The Toronto Raptors already has the younger Jonas Valanciunas at the Center position, but the Raptors front office are having doubts that he can hold the Center position deeper in the playoffs.

The Toronto Raptors are lacking in that Center position. If they successfully sign Marc Gasol, then The Raptors would be an instant Favourite to get to the finals.

Raptors guard Louis Williams reportedly having Two Girlfriends, J.R. Smith’s reaction

Toronto Raptors beat the Denver Nuggets 112-107 in overtime

Lou Williams a.k.a. “Sweet lou” had a very solid game last night against Tobias Harris and the Orlando Magic. Coming off the bench scoring 18 points in 28 minutes. The Raptors came out and win it TOR(95) – ORL(82).

Lou has been the talk of a bunch of headlines this morning and not because of his solid performance last night, but because he was involved in a relationship with two women right now. That is not the issue here, the real shocker is that the two women allegedly knows about each other and have accepted the terms to date Lou at the same time.

Baller Alert and Complex reported, their names are Ashley Henderson and Rece Mitchell or Blonde and Brown as Lou Williams like to call them.

Baller Alert is part of why this News has been garnering attention, but also because of Knicks guard J.R Smith saw the story and tweeted last night.

Lou hasn’t answered any of the tweets and probably won’t any time soon. He hasn’t confirmed or denied his involvement with the girls and the issue for that matter.

Job Interview 101: Top 10 job interview tips

DSC_0574 (2)

That dream job you wanted since you were a child might not be as easy to get as you think considering our economy today. The unemployment rate in the US is 5.8% of the labour work force and that’s 9.0 million people each year competing for a job. In Canada, its 1.2 million people unemployed and it keeps growing every year. Imagine the amount of people trying to get the same job as you do, unless you want to work for fast food all your life, its just not going to cut it. Well its a challenge for most of us and we need to find ways to edge our competition no matter how little, it will all add up in the end.

NOTE: First of all there are 6 kinds of job interviews and each has its own characteristics.

  • Structured interview – These are pre-determined set of questions. The interviewee will read this to you in sequence in a job interview.
  • Unstructured interview – These are unplanned set of questions. The interviewee will ask you questions off the top of his head.
  • Mixed interview – It’s basically a mix between structured and unstructured.
  • Behavioural description interview – These are set of questions that will determine future behaviours. The interviewee will ask you about an event that happened in the past and explain what your actions were at that time.
  • Situational interview – The interviewee will give you situations that might happen in the future. The question usually starts with i.e. What would you do if …
  • Stress-producing interview – These questions will determine how well you deal with stress. Involves High levels of stress questions.

Here are some guidelines that you could follow to increase your chances of getting that very elusive dream job.

Interview tips

#1 – Be Prepared!!

This must be the most obvious. According to an independent research firm 38% of managers said that interviewees had done hardly any research about them. Spend time on their website, get to know what their company is all about. Also know what your skills and experiences are. Write it down on a piece of paper and review it before the interview. Another important thing is to know your career plans and goals. This tells your interviewer that you care about your career and that you are committed to your job. I guarantee that this will most likely be part of the interview So be prepared, it will greatly boost your confidence when you know you came prepared.

#2 – Dress to Impress!!

Dress appropriate for a job interview. Make that good first impression. I wrote about how people make snap judgements about others in 5 seconds to formulate a negative or positive opinion based only from your appearance. This is crucial for making the decision. Make yourself known and dress appropriate.

#3 – Make Eye Contact!!

Making eye contact is important because this tells your interviewer that you are confident about yourself. This also conveys that you’re prepared for the interview and confident that you can answer all the questions. And you will also appear to be likable.

#4 Be a Good Listener!!

Stay attentive in the interview and stay still. Listen carefully to the questions asked. Also don’t be afraid of asking the interviewer to repeat the question. Its normal for the interviewee to misunderstand the question, that is why its important to make sure and ask again. This says that you are eager to answer the question.

#5 – Be Honest!!

Interviewees are trained professionals, they can read your body language. If you’re not a trained liar, I suggest that you keep it real. Lying will only lower your chances of getting the job.

#6 – Be Deliberate!!

Think things through before you answer. Don’t just answer the question right away. Carefully weigh in any possible answers to the question in your head. Be smart with your answers. Remember that content is heavier than quantity on an interview.

#7 – Don’t be Afraid of Silence!!

Awkward silences are sometimes viewed negatively but in fact its a good sign that you are thinking it through and it conveys that you are really investing on your answer which is always a plus. Don’t be afraid to ask your interviewer if you can take a moment to think about the answer. Its really OK.

#8 – Be Confident Not Arrogant!!

There’s a huge difference between Arrogance and Confidence. I got this phrase from www.theladder.com, it says, “Confidence is inspiring and Arrogance is a turn-off”. Its easy to come off as arrogant but it takes work to be confident. Its important to know the difference.

#9 – Sell yourself!!

Sell your self to the interviewee. Say what they want to hear and be the solution to their problem. Talk about your resume and what you can offer the company if they hire you. Companies like to hear about what you can do for their team and why they should hire you. Again, prepare!!

#10 – Ask Questions!!

At the end of the interview when the interviewer asks you if you have any questions never say no. Its important to ask questions at the end of an interview. Know the right questions to ask here are some examples.

Wrong questions to ask:

  • How much do I get paid?
  • What are the benefits?

Right questions to ask:

  • How can I help the company?

Top 10 reasons to love the Holidays

Christmas and the holidays are the season of giving. It’s a time when people are more kind and open-hearted. Read more at brainyquote

Since the holidays is just around the corner, I decided to list the top 10 things I love about the Holidays. Its my favourite time of the year. It brings people closer together and it promotes sacrificing something for the joy of others. Its an overall a feel good experience.

These are my personal favourite. Let me know what you think.

#1. Gifts

Its not a surprise that Gifts is at the top of the list. Who doesn’t like receiving gifts?. I know I do. It just brings me joy, not because of the gift itself, but really just grateful to the person. For me, the thought that goes into it is the most important thing. I personally don’t care about how much the person spent on it, Unless its really really expensive. Its the thought that counts people.

#2. Food

YES, FOOD! Its second to my list. Its the ultimate cheat month. Since Christmas is my family’s most celebrated event of the year. The amount of food is insane. The varieties of food is amazing and its always different every year. For us living north of the border, we have boxing day after Christmas. The morning of boxing day when you wake up, is the best feeling, “left over food never tasted better “. That’s why most people pack lbs. during this season.

#3. Shopping

Shopping! Shopping! and more Shopping! Its the time where people grind it out at work. Getting over time hours to cope with their spending. We spend more in a week, compared to what we’ve spent in a year total. I think for some people, it’s their way of rewarding themselves.

#4. Christmas parties

10743693_10152807826212170_139265220_nChristmas Parties! For my family and friends, its been our tradition to have a Christmas party every year. Its a time where we get together and have dinner. We also do secret santas every year. It makes things a lot more interesting and also you save a lot of money that way since you don’t have to get every single one of them a gift.

#5. Relatives away from home

Most of us have relatives away from home. Our grandmother visited us last year from California. It was really nice to see her again after a long time. Its been a while since I’ve last seen her. There’s just no better feeling than spending time with your loved ones. It brings us closer together. Its also a great time to catch up and share stories with them.

#6. Time off from work

YES it is! A couple of days off work is enough to be part of the top 10. It doesn’t need any explanation. More quality time with family and friends for sure.

#7. Christmas Jingles

If you’re living in Toronto, tune in to 98.1. They play Christmas music all day throughout the season. It instantly puts you in the mood for the holidays.

#8. Holiday Ambiance

I don’t know what it is about this season. It just puts you in a good mood. It could be the atmosphere, or the air we breathe. Its the feeling overall for me.

#9. Snow Snow Snow

We associate snow with a lot of activities. Tobogganing is my favourite.  Going down the hill with my makeshift sled made of boxes is the best. You just have to put on more layers to actually enjoy playing outside in the snow.

#10. Midnight Mass

Catholic Christians has a unique way of celebrating Christmas. We attend a series of Church masses every night from the 16th of December to Christmas eve. Most of us believe that if you attend all of it, your wish would come true.  It is also meant to show devotion to God and heightened anticipation for Christ’s birth. Its a tradition.

Obama Administration’s Original plan and connection to ISIS [EXPOSED]

The Obama Administration has been funding and training ISIS or ISIL for more than 3 years to overthrow the Syrian central government. ISIS has been supplied with weapons and money to carry out the attacks on Syria.

Also part of Obama’s plan was to get rid of the central government in Iraq and break it into 3 parts Shia, Sunni, and the Kurdish area but when ISIS started to close in into the western controlled areas they had to take action. The U.S. started bombing ISIS militants to push them out of western controlled areas. That is basically the U.S. saying you can’t touch these infrastructures because that is not what they agreed to and because those oil fields are owned by the US and its allies.

January 9: Daily Horoscope

Don’t let anyone tell you that your ambitions are unrealistic. That’s nonsense. If you have a dream, whatever it may be, you owe it to yourself to take it as far as you can. This isn’t a rehearsal, this is your life. Make it extraordinary.

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Anyone who thinks they can get you to believe something that is clearly untrue obviously does not know you too well. Pretend to go along with what they tell you, then turn around at the last moment and tell them to get lost!

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

You will be dealing with important people today, the kind of people who can make things happen. The trick is to get them to make things happen for you. If you get the chance to impress them, take it. There’s no point being shy.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

If you are having second thoughts about something you recently agreed to there is still time to change your mind. Others may not be happy about it but your conscience must come first. Better you pull out now than hate yourself later.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

You want to make a good impression on employers and people in positions of authority but you also want to tell the truth – and you may not be able to do both. Be honest today, both with others and with yourself.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

Take no notice if a friend or work colleague tries to terrify you with tales of what might go wrong. According to the planets most things will go your way over the next 24 hours and the few things that don’t can’t hurt you.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

You may not agree with someone’s opinions but you fully support their right to express them – which, of course, will bring you into conflict with people who believe that free speech is not sacred. This is a battle you must win.

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

Everyone has limits, even a Libra, and if you stay within them nothing much will go wrong today. But if you get the idea that you can do anything you like, then you could make a fool of yourself – and you hate being laughed at.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

If you allow personal feelings to influence the decisions you make today at least one of those decisions will cause you grief. Stick to the facts and avoid wishful thinking. You have a reputation for common sense. Show you deserve it.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

According to the planets a colleague is envious of your popularity and success and would like nothing better than to bring you down a notch or two. That can only happen if you drop your guard – so stay alert for challenges.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

Someone in a position of authority is not convinced that you have what it takes to do a certain task, but you will delight in proving them wrong. Have faith in yourself and give 100 per cent. Come tomorrow they will be your biggest fan.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

If someone older or wiser than you offers advice today you must listen and you must think seriously about doing what they say, because it could save you a fortune. You know a lot but you cannot possibly know it all.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Everyone wants to please you, everyone wants to be your friend, which is nice. But don’t let it blind you to the fact that you may have to make some unpopular calls over the next few days. “Nice” doesn’t pay the bills.

January 8: Daily Horoscope

You will embark on a journey of discovery over the coming 12 months and it is quite possible you will discover something about the world that changes your outlook completely. There is always more to learn – yes, even for a Capricorn!

ARIES (March 21 – April 20):

Don’t worry too much about details today. Instead, make a conscious effort to raise your sights and look at the bigger picture. If you don’t, you could miss something important – and that something has the potential to make you rich.

TAURUS (April 21 – May 21):

Neptune, planet of deception, warns you need to treat what you hear today with the utmost suspicion. That may sound rather negative but according to the planets someone is trying to put ideas in your head that do not belong there.

GEMINI (May 22 – June 21):

You will find yourself in a heated discussion with a friend or work colleague today and no way are you going to back down. Why should you when you know that you are right and they are wrong? There is no need to compromise.

CANCER (June 22 – July 23):

Start planning your next major career move. The planets indicate that you know what you want and you know how to get it, so move fast and impress people in positions of authority. It won’t be long before you are on the rise.

LEO (July 24 – Aug. 23):

If you find yourself arguing with someone over a contentious issue today you must stick closely to the facts. If you try to bend the truth in any way, shape or form they will find out and it will most likely ruin your case.

VIRGO (Aug. 24 – Sept. 23):

The news you receive over the next 24 hours could be good or it could be bad – it depends entirely on how you choose to look at it. Do you see the glass as half full or half empty? Do you even see the glass?

LIBRA (Sept. 24 – Oct. 23):

Whatever disagreements or differences of opinion you may have had with friends or family members in recent weeks you can quite easily iron them out now. Make the first move and let it be known you don’t hold a grudge.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24 – Nov. 22):

You need to streamline your working routine and you need to do so now. The first thing you must do is decide how much you can comfortably cope with. The second thing is to simply refuse to take on anything more than that.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 23 – Dec. 21):

According to the planets you will be taking some important decisions over the next 24 hours. The most important thing of all is that you make it clear to everyone that these decisions are not open to discussion. You have decided and that’s it.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22 – Jan. 20):

For some strange reason you appear to believe that everyone thinks and feels the same as you but what occurs over the next day or two will put you right. It really doesn’t matter if others disagree with you – you can still be friends.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 21 – Feb. 19):

Today’s Mercury-Neptune link warns you need to be careful with money, so keep your cash in your pocket no matter how much others insist this is the ideal time to spend. It may be for them but it isn’t for you.

PISCES (Feb. 20 – Mar. 20):

Even if you are the kind of Pisces who tends to keep your opinions to yourself you won’t hesitate to speak your mind today – and quite right too. The one thing you can’t stand is injustice and you won’t turn a blind eye to it.
