The Toronto Raptors returns home for 6 straight games after a brutal 6 game road trip, 5 of which are against the Western teams.
After losing 3 straight on the Road, the Raptors find themselves at the number two spot from being at the top for most of the season.
The Chicago Bulls fell to number 3 after losing to Utah Jazz last night, while the Atlanta Hawks are rolling — winning 6 straight — holding the top spot in the East.
The Toronto Raptors has won 7 of their 9 games so far against the Western Conference, but they have yet to face the top teams. Their next five game stretch will be on the road against Blake Griffin and the Clippers on December 27th, Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers on the 30th, Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors on January 2nd, and Eric Bledsoe and the Phoenix Suns. They are also facing the Denver Nuggets after they face the Clippers.
The upcoming road trip will be the real test for the Toronto Raptors. In the absence of their All-Star team-mate Demar Derozan, Kyle Lowry’s decision making will be tested as the leader of their team.
Lowry has always been the key to their success and especially now that Demar is out, Lowry will have to step up his game until Derozan comes back.
Bruno Caboclo the 20th overall pick by the Toronto Raptors played in the Blow out game against the New York Knicks. He came off the bench played 2 minutes in the contest and shot 3 field goals but ended up missing all 3. The Raptors went on to win it (TOR)118- (NYK)108.
This happened before Bruno entered the Game. He was terrified of Drake and that is probably why he missed all his shots. Let’s all blame it on Drake.
The Toronto Raptors is showing interest in acquiring the Memphis Grizzly Big man, Marc Gasol. His team is at the top of the Western Conference mainly because of his solid production averaging 19.4 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and 3.8 apg. It may not come as a surprise that other NBA teams would also try to sign him once he hits Free Agency.
According to The Globe and Mail, If Marc Gasol doesn’t re-sign with the Grizzlies, the Toronto Raptors will try to covet him of signing with the Raptors.
“A player that increasingly intrigues Raptors management is Memphis centre Marc Gasol.
The Spaniard is a free agent this summer. The greatest lack on the Raptors roster is a truly dominant big man. Gasol is a Jungian figure that features prominently in GM Masai Ujiri’s bedside dream diary”
The Toronto Raptors already has the younger Jonas Valanciunas at the Center position, but the Raptors front office are having doubts that he can hold the Center position deeper in the playoffs.
The Toronto Raptors are lacking in that Center position. If they successfully sign Marc Gasol, then The Raptors would be an instant Favourite to get to the finals.
